Hello, I am Pip Carter a writer and illustrator with a studio at Colonnade House in Worthing where I enjoy being part of a creative community. I gained an MA in Sequential Design and Illustration from the University of Brighton where I developed my narrative skills and love of storytelling. I have produced writing and illustrations for picture books and a middle grade novel (currently seeking publication).
As a writer I have a fresh and uncluttered voice with today’s children in mind. My versatile illustration style mixes modern with traditional. Recently, I have moved from watercolour to digital painting which allows me to scan and enhance my detailed pencil line drawings. My influences include Anthony Browne (for surreal detail) and Tomi Ungerer (for visual wit and expressive line work).
My love of stories comes from the belief that a good book can fire the imagination and transport you anywhere.
